BGD Posted September 11, 2010 Posted September 11, 2010 Wirralian - 2010-09-10 10:40 PM I have just had a look at the suntekstore site and can finding nothing about LED bulbs for the motorhome, just bulbs for cars. What do they come under? John Ummm....because 12 volt DC LED light bulbs are for cars. And motorhomes. And caravans. That is the section of their website that you have been looking at....
Mel B Posted September 11, 2010 Posted September 11, 2010 Now then Brucey .. .not everyone has your wonderful level of expertise you know!!! :D To someone new to all of this it wouldn't necessarily follow that car LED bulbs were the same as those used in the lights in the habitation area of motorhomes .... you seldom get they type of 'reading lights' you do in motorhomes in cars now do you! :-S
Ocsid Posted September 11, 2010 Posted September 11, 2010 Also for those new to acquiring LEDS for the first time I would suggest that those classified as SMD [surface mounted Diodes] will perform very well. These are typified by being constructed of visually little square yellow clusters, as opposed to those made up of what look like glass beads. These SMDs cost generally more but having had the earlier generation multi "glass bead" type I find these newer ones are a league better performers. For less demanding areas, in my case I feel the loo falls in this category, then the cheaper ones are adequate; that is if its worth changing these short usage lights at all.
