Electric bike insurance

Actually, I think that you will find that the majority of insurers now specifically exclude electric bikes from their household policies so do check carefully. Why this should be so escapes me as quite a lot of 'ordinary' type bikes are equally as expensive these days.

Hi Poppy Its not cheap. I paid about £150 with cover for europe last year with Cycleguard. This year it is £132 for uk only. I have the wisper 905 sport. the battery is £500 to replace. Its not a cheap pastime.

I couldnt get it covered on house insurance.

good luck vic

Might be worth joining a national cycle club as I am told they have insurance covered in the subscription.

I was told by my local bike shop of a horror story where an electric bike met a Mazda by a bit of mutual sillyness (50% blame each side) and the bill for bike damage to the mazda was over £2500 (and the bike was wriiten off as well.) Medical expenses for bother were covered by the NHS.

Hurts just as much as falling of a 50cc motor scooter !
