Alan D Posted September 10, 2010 Posted September 10, 2010 Can anyone advise me of the whereabouts of Cite de Europe in Calais. A log/Lat number would be appreciated along with the address. Alan.
maggyd Posted September 10, 2010 Posted September 10, 2010 You will see it if you follow the road to the tunnel from Calais on the left of the 16. I think!! :-D but W.T.G. has given a good map for you to follow.
Guest Tracker Posted September 10, 2010 Posted September 10, 2010 There are so many road signs that it is hard to miss but do be careful about leaving the van unattended in the motorhome car park as there have been reports of break ins?
sshortcircuit Posted September 10, 2010 Posted September 10, 2010 As said it is well sign posted and it should be easy to find. Have parked there often with no problems particularly as its overlooked by the police station.
Guest Tracker Posted September 10, 2010 Posted September 10, 2010 So have we parked problem free - and thousands of others - nevertheless there have been problems and it's better to know than not to know.
Alan D Posted September 10, 2010 Author Posted September 10, 2010 Many thanks everyone, we shall be on our way tomorrow. Alan.

sshortcircuit Posted September 11, 2010 Posted September 11, 2010 Last time we were at Citi the Tesco store was closed due to staff on strike as Tesco were closing a profitable store? I emailed Tesco voicing concern and subsequently got a voucher saying they had closed the store. Of the many centres I have been in Citi is big and spacious and well worth the visit to Carafour, but everybody to there own.
catinou Posted September 16, 2010 Posted September 16, 2010 If you are going to use the A16 you could try Auchan at Boulogne Sur Mer, about 20 miled S of the tunnel (Junction31 towards St Omer). We usually stop for fuel ( on Tuesday it had sadly increased to 112.5 euros per litre from our previous visit at the start of our holiday, when it was 110.9 euros). We can stock up at Auchan if required and the service station has a MH service point (with electricity) so at the end of our trip we usually empty grey and black water then trundle round to the vehicle wash section - it has a high vehicle pressure washer space which is great to clean the holiday "debris" from the front of the van - after filling up the diesel tank of course;-) If you want to use McDonalds for the free WiFi or trundle across to one of the many other shops / outlets parking is freely available. The security people are fine with vans stopping overnight as well...unlike the UK *-)
peterandlinda Posted September 16, 2010 Posted September 16, 2010 Hi We spent a very peaceful and quiet night at Cite Europe. Please note, especially in the dark, that there is only one (signed) entrance to the motorhome parking - all the others have hight barriers! P&L
