You never need to say sorry Maggy for simply saying what you feel - I'm not offended - but as someone once said - there certainly are some odd buggers on here!

If that was losing it Maggy you must be one of the gentlest kindest people around!

And never let it be said that I don't know how to grovel - 40 years experience counts for a lot!

Listen to these wise people Maggy.

It's important to stand up for what you believe in, I certainly do, and I wasn't upset or offended by anything you wrote.

Anyway, we're (broadly) on the same side here among all these heathens :D !

Love

Tony

Oy, Tony - there's nowt wrong with being a heathen. ;-)

What a shame that every other church in the land can't benefit from this experience!

Catholicism is a supportive community, while not perfect it works, and offers pretty decent education on the whole......Probably the thought of putting your hands in your pockets fills some of you with dread *-)

This from the Guardian:-

Vatican bank chief investigated over money laundering claims

In unprecedented move, judge freezes €23m held in account at financial institution with close church links

http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/2010/sep/21/vatican-bank-chief-investigated-laundering

............................

Back in 1982 another scandal broke re the Catholic Church Vatican bank – the full details were never explained but “Gods banker” – Roberto Calvi, was found hanged under Blackfriers Bridge.

Make of it all what you will - but to me it does seem all rather murky.

And the way the abuse of children was coverred up is dispicable

And? That any man made organisation (and probably worse for the exclusion of women) can be found wanting is a revelation? Are you serious? And you work in the financial sector yourself?

Jesus is only known to have lost his temper on one occasion that I can remember, and that was with the money changer/bankers at the temple, so how would he feel about your revelations? Exactly the same I would think. Yes we are all fallible it is the human condition......and need to practise what we preach, and that is why we are surrounded by hypocrisy
