Cooker Igniter.

Hi, Does anyone know how the above works on a Belling Cooker. I have an Auto-trail van and the above has stopped working. I have changed the AA battery but still no go. Is there a 12v supply from the van that boosts the spark. Any help greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Have you checked the battery contacts for cleanliness as sometimes they can get grotty which prevents electricity from flowing?

 

Auto trail have a good spare parts and advice facility - well they used to anyway - and it might be worth a phone call to them for advice?

if you can hear it sparkin and not in the right place it may be that it is earthing out somewhere from either the electrodes or contact wires - so my hubbie says. Hope this helps.

There is no 12volt supply on your model cooker, only battery. Previous replies are correct, if you can't hear it sparking then you might need to replace the spark generator box, but this will entail removal of the cooker. Best get the gasman in. Happy days.
