ips
Have eber diesel blown air fitted but am thinking of fitting the "airtronic" system so when on hook up we can have electric blown air. Has anyone got or fitted this system any thoughts on the matter ???
neil malcolmson
I have it and it is ok. I would not bother having it fitted though,I would just buy a good fan heater as that is all it is really.
ips
I know what you meen we have a fan heater which is probably quieter than the eber and in winter we have a mini oil filled thing which we leave on at night cos no noise. Just thought the elec thing would be good cos it would be neater than a fan heater. kit costs £250 ish so expensive but the project would keep me out of trouble for a weekend (lol)
Harvey
The Eberspacher 'Airtronic' is a diesel fueled hot air system ( it doesn't heat the water as does the 'Hydronic' ). What exactly are you considering fitting? Harvey
ips
Hi, considering the electric heater for blown hot air when on hook up not bothered about the water heater unless of course its feasable
Rod_vw
Do I take it that you mean this http://www.eberspacher.com/products/air-heating/airlectric.html as an add on unit to a D2 Airtronic? £350+ sounds a little expensive compared with £9.99 for a thermostat controlled fan heater from Argos!!!! (Rear-view camera system, LED lighting, extra battery, new bike, etc. etc.) Seems like a huge waste of cash to me.
ips
When you put it like that, your prob right. May think of another project and stick with fan heater
Harvey
ips - 2010-09-24 7:57 PM Hi, considering the electric heater for blown hot air when on hook up not bothered about the water heater unless of course its feasable Yes, I understand that, but I asked what *exactly* you were intending to fit, because you referred to fitting an 'Airtronic', but that is not a mains electric heater. Rod_vw
Harvey, see the link in my post above, Eberspacher now manufacture an add-on for D2 & D4 heaters to provide a 240v heating unit. At a considerable price I may add.
Mel B
ips - 2010-09-24 10:06 AM ... but the project would keep me out of trouble for a weekend (lol) If that's your problem you can come here and help me sort out the 'jungle' that is our garden!!! 8-) The money it would cost to put an electric heating system in would pay for a lot of diesel for you to run your existing heating off .... :-S
