Mrs AliB is in charge of the social diary so she would probably invite Alan Bennet to hear all about his plays and listen to his soothing voice. It'll keep her occupied while I watch Star Trek.

By the way my diary has a few vacant slots. I can talk on any subject, especially if a wee dram dram is involved. Contact my usual agent to make a booking.

This kinda of posting is not really motorhome related is it..... and if you deeply feel the need to keep posting nonsense, why not stick them over on chatterbox.

 

this site has gone to the dogs since yet another started charging. you look at some forums and you will be hard pressed to find any content on front page regards actual camping/travelling/motorhoming. So please can we nip this in the bud and post in the appropriate areas .....

I didnt realise that this is one of those "I have been posting longer than you so there" type of forums.

 

And if you feel the need to reply with some more of your pointless remarks then dont expect a slanging match because I wont respond.

If this really is such a heinous crime to post in the wrong section then feel free to move or delete it. Many thanks etc etc

Judgemental, I couldn't agree with you more. A few years ago I found this site extremely helpful on all aspects of motorhome matters but now it is so clogged up with unrelated discussion that I am seriously considering deleting the forum from my 'Favourites' list. I know that will have absolutely no effect on this present blight but at least it will have a beneficial effect on my blood pressure. Please don't get me wrong - some of the discussion is interesting and intelligent and would be perfectly valid on other sites (although some of it is rubbishy tittle-tattle ,occasionally vituperative).

 

PLEASE, PLEASE, friends, let's get back to basics!

To start off mine would be..............Margaret Thatcher.

 

I did wonder how long this would take to kick off as the choice of the uber bi**h as dinner guest had to be a bit of provocative kite flying, given that a not uncommon view in the UK would be to invite her round to complete Brighton’s unfinished business.

 

I thought the brouhaha on the great TV debate was getting risky at the mention of dogs, no more than tu*d laying machines as far as I am concerned, and the beloved walk being mainly for the exercise of this function, however I do realise many people love them more than their children.

 

Given the hysteria over the cat in the bin it would seem most of the country are more concerned about the furry kind than say the tragedies like those of Victoria Climbié.

 

Perhaps its the silly season for campers, summer over, no serious buying going on, but maybe there are some areas of discussion too serious or heartfelt to be suitable for a forum of this kind and for a ‘club’ that must be as diverse in social mix as this one.

Sort of agree, after all this is Chatterbox and you can ignore any posting. You could say jokes are not really relevant but they often give me a giggle or two. Anyway my answer is

Katherine Jenkins for conversation, Katherine Jenkins as a companion at dinner, Katherine Jenkins for musical entertainment,

and then Katherine Jenkins(lol) I think I have covered it all(lol)

Best to take no notice of those pompous posters who see their roll in life as amateur moderators ips - to post in the wrong area is not the heinous crime they claim it to be!

 

The real moderators, who fortunately take a much more balanced view, will move anything they feel is in the wrong place!

 

To those who complain so self righteously - do please try and see your remarks from the point of view of the intended recipient.

 

To those who don't like the way this forum is run - tough!

 

There is lots of information on here and are lots of good peole willing to share their knowledge and experience and help others.

 

I don't undertsand why some folks are so intolerant and short of time that they continually need to be offensive to others - often hiding behind a smiley for their rudeness?

Peter, I may be a bit more abrasive then usual, probably because I dont like seeing the forums reasonable balance of humour, and interesting and focused mothoming issues, being dragged down to the level of some other forums? This has mainly come from the influx of "newcomers" from you know where.... and we all know the abysmal quality of postings generally on there *-)

 

And I am obviously right as the Mods seem to agree with me (lol)

 

I dont normally even look at chatterpox (thank God)

 

PS Hoy! what about your response to Caroline? glass houses me finks*-)

So why not just stick with threads in Motorhome Matters and keep out of Chatterbox?

 

Admittedly some posters are starting a thread in totally the wrong section....thats up to the admin to get it shifted. Yes it would be better if those posters thought about the subject content of their post and put it in the right section in the first place, but it's hardly the most heinous of crimes is it?

 

Personally i'd like to see more open debate on a variety of subjects. Threads on this forum do seem to finish very quickly, even motorhome threads, which would appear to indicate a lack of interest as a whole.
