Guest peter
Take it out and try vaccuuming the carpet with it, if it does it's working fine. Henry boiler? is there such a thing?.
paulmold
The Henry water heater is a direct replacement for the obsolete Carver. Sorry can't help with the problem, just thought Peter's answer unnecessarily unhelpful for an 'expert'.

Brambles
Hi, 1st off all DO NOT keep trying it to see if it works until iy is checked out. As you are getting unburt gas comeing out of exhaust and ignitor is sparking away you risk explosion. I suspect some dirt may have got into or onto the jets and gas is not flowing properly as a result the flame is not burning correctly. The burner unit needs to be inspected and also the gas supply pressure checked. If it too high agian the flame could be blowing iself out, and equally of too low not enough gas to maintain the flame and fail safe devices. It should be covered under warranty if recently fitted, and unless you know what you are doing get an expert to check it or whoever fitted it. Maybe a henry of the other type is all that is needed to vacuum out any dirt around the burner!!!!! Jon.
Clive
Peters asnwer was off at a tangent but I must admit to thinking "ask Henrietta" to help. Seriously have you a copy of the handbook for the heater unit and does this have a diagram inside it?. Can you scan it and post it here? What does not make sence is your statement that its still emitting gas but not alight. The controller gives the burner a few seconds to light and if the flame sensor has not detected heat should turn the boiler gas supply off. More input please. C. lennyhb
Jon mentions gas pressure it could be a faulty regulator & nothing to do with the heater.
