Tabbert FFB Floor.

Hi folks! has anyone fitted a side or rear hatch to access the gap above the subfloor on the 570 Classic. I've seen a rear hatch on later models, can this be 'retrofitted'? Mine is 1991 on Peugeot Chassis.

Thanks. *-)

Hi Flyer & welcome to the forum

You can get standard access doors frames similar to the side locker door on your Tabbert, from the likes of:-

Depends on your location, there are also other suppliers, try Googling "Motorhome Locker Doors"

It will depend on the size you require, but they usually need the section you cut out to fill the frame, giving you a match to existing bodywork

This ia a link to the relevant section in the CAK catalogue

I'd guess that the aluminium frame product might be a fair match for your motorhome's existing doors, though it might be trickier to fit than the Thetford ones.

I don't recall a recent MMM article on adding an extra door, but there are several pages in John Wickersham's book "Build your own Motorcaravan" that describe what's involved when fitting new access-doors, roof-lights and fridge-vents to motorhomes with sandwich-bonded-panel bodywork.

I fitted an extra fridge-vent and a larger gas-locker door to my previous motorhome using Thetford products. It wasn't particularly difficult, though there's (obviously) a need for great care that the aperture in the bodywork is cut to the right size and in the right place!

OF topic, but could I urge everyone to email Cak tanks asking when they will have an online shop up and running, was supposed to happen last year. It is such a shame that a company with so many products that many of us seek seem to be stuck in the past not having a full online shopping website. :-(
