Guest Tracker
Does the team think that 100,000,000 - yes, one hunded million - ceramic sunflower seeds being walked on constitutes art? Maybe the Chesil Beach - or any other shingle beach - could be seen as more artistic and gives the same feeling and noise underfoot?
kelly58
One wonders how many will be left after the exhibition as long as I am not the one to have to count them.

Maybe the Chesil Beach - or any other shingle beach - could be seen as more artistic and gives the same feeling and noise underfoot? I suppose that anything put together by man ( or woman) can be construed as 'art' so if that is the way some people want to spend their leisure time, good luck to them. But, I do wish it didn't get so much prominence in the media as it is all so random. After all, I tipped out a pile of screws onto a table the other day and it looked great, but no-one from TV happened to be around so the rest of the world missed out on seeing it. ....and as for giving prizes out for this stuff !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So my view is - if that's what they like to do, let 'em - but don't keep telling me about it, I'm sure that much more important things are going on in the world which we should be hearing about. :-(

Every one of them was hand painted!! and they were very realistic and looked much better than an unmade bed!! that some women got a prize for a few years ago. art338
In reality its nothing other then someones personal eye-dear. The organisations who arrange these eye-ball events aim to provide objects or arrangements to shock joe public. The more unusual will attract the casual visitor where it may be viewed as an eye-opener and even be mildly amusing. The over educated who have little visual concept of lifes realities are likely to be enraptured with amazement over a simple eye-line feature. Whilst the very young will be looking to their eye-pods for guidance. art.
Guest peter
My dog deposited a rather fetching turd on the lawn this morning. Which must be a contender for an award from the arts council. :D
art338
Next time you prepare the dogs food include some very small coloured sparkling beads, the ones that look like diamonds. Collect the resulting object, bake it in the oven and display it 'as from outer space'. It may need polishing to enhance the 'diamond effect', which you then describe in the local paper as 'moon dust'. art
J9withdogs
Music is sometimes similarly difficult to understand - Jools Holland just had the most strange guest on his programme who had a very average voice. Many of my friends could have made a better stab at a song than he did, but they don't get national TV exposure.
