leon
If theres gonna be a huge difference for the 2011 and 2012 then get them in asap and depending on the course get them on a sandwich year (year in industry) always looks good on the CV (helped my younger cousin compaired to her friend). Also they can go travelling and have their year off after Uni as they will appreciate it more after doing 3/4 hard years of work
Guest JudgeMental
Have been telling him that but he is decidedly unimpressed, my daughter after her gap year is finding it dificult to knuckle down... But The gap year, along with the work experience and travelling in the far east, has made her much more confident and self assured, so I do feel for him *-)
Porky
JudgeMental - 2010-10-14 4:20 PM we are doing as much as possible for them, and if the house downsize goes according to plan, this should ensure they leave Uni with just enough debt to keep them focused, if you get what I mean *-) I feel really sorry for young people, this is a very harsh world they are venturing out into :-S Yep been there done that. My parents did what they could for me, we have done what we can for our son. Supporting children is what parents should do,within limits of course. I said to our son when he got a place at Bristol to do Business Studies that I was not overly concerned which direction he ended up as long as he did it with 100% commitment and passion. So the fact that he is now in Florence as a self employed web designer and teaching English to make ends meet may not be the way to his first million and is a long way from what I had expected but I can not take my words back. He is doing what he wants to do in a city he loves and is totally commited to it. So we continue to help where we can, and I am sure you will do the same. Of course we should help our kids and I hope yours appreciate what you are doing (eventually).
