KD1
Could somebody help me out. Up till 2 days ago, all worked fine, but yesterday I lost BBC 1 Wales and BBC2 Wales, and a few of the Radio Stations. I have done a search to upgrade the Channels, but even though they are still showing as on air-I am unable to recieve them? But I am able to get BBC1 Scotland and BBC2 Midlands, I am unable to get the Welsh stations. Please no smart remarks!! I have been told by two so called specialists in the market that eventually I will lose more and more channels, and I need to have a new Box, one said Maxview Freebox. Is this correct, or just a sales ploy? The Camos and Box are 3 years old, and the software was updated 18 months ago. Any solutions.
Robinhood
A number of BBC stations were 'moved' a couple of days ago. This is to make space in the spectrum for the imminent introduction of BBC1 HD. AFAIK, BBC1 and 2 Wales were two of the stations moved, Whilst I have freesat box at home which does an auto re-tune, the FTA box in the 'van doesn't, and I've manually re-scanned that to correct it. I'm not au fait with the Zehnder box, but I would be surprised if it couldn't cope with the new frequencies (especially as posts I've seen say the Welsh channels have moved to a stronger signal). I'd suggest a (further) re-scan, and if this doesn't work, and attempt to manually enter or scan the frequencies. http://www.motorhomefacts.com/ftoptitle-94750-important-changes-to-bbc-tv-frequencies-this-weekend.html has some more detail, and, http://www.lyngsat.com/28east.html seems to have been updated with the new frequencies. KD1
Unfortunately the problem has returned with loss of S4C and radio 1,2 3 and 4 on BBC. Can anybody recommend a suitable and competent dealer to help me sort out the problems once and for all. I am based in Carmarthen, West Wales, but will travel to get it sorted. Thanks. rolyk
Delete all the Astra 28.2 programming and do a rescan. This should fix it. At least it did on my Comag. I can't see why you were told you will eventually need a new box.
Big Momma
I am not very Techy orientated so not sure that anything that I am about to say will be of any use, what the heck here goes. On my last van I had a Camos Sat dome and Zehnder FTA Receiver (Manual). I never had any problems with getting the local channels I required even when in Southern France. On my new van (May 10) I also had a Camos dome and FTA Receiver fitted. I have travelled South and North (UK) since getting the van and have had no problems with getting local channels, although must admit I wouldn't normally look for the local Welsh TV channels. Everything else is working fine. Chelstons Motorhomes in Wellington, Somerset (Just off the M5) installed and set up the system for me and I have had no need to do anything with it since. On my old van I had the dome and receiver fitted retrospectively by 'Van Bitz' who are again just off the M5 Junction at Taunton, Somerset.
