Hawcara
Just been on motorhome facts to have a nose. There is a chap selling an old double decker bus converted into a motorhome. It says it is a VR (vertical rear engine). Whilst it seems a good idea, I really would not want the hassle, breakdown, sites etc. Do you have to have a pcv or would ordinary licence do as it is not for reward? Saw a fire engine converted into M/home in Spain a coupla years ago.
flicka
Would not need a PSV licence if kept below 8 passengers & not for reward. I doubt that a Class C (7.5 tonne) will be sufficient. One point regarding the law in respect of the above, if the vehicle is owned by a Company instead of private individual, although "not for reward" it does require the Driver to be a PSV License holder. I found this out when purchasing a Mini-bus for my previous employer. In DVLA speak, the Driver is deemed to be rewarded by receiving his wage/salary whist carrying other employees in the vehicle. Tony Jones
Just make sure you're not buying it off this cowboy - he's well-known for dodgy bus/camper conversions!
flicka
Could be worse Tony, Fred Grant of Penpillock posted on another thread that he & his boys had just slung a mattress, kitchen & Portaloo into a Bus. Beware, be very aware. >:-) >:-) >:-) Haloween is almost here. BTW - Wonder if Cliff has renewed his PSV/HGV license now he has just celebrated his 70th Birthday.
