ken nugent
Hi Any advice on how to treat window seals i.e. habitation side, our old mh seals got pulled out of the frames as they had stuck to the window. I think the seals are the same type on our new one which is a Dethleffs globebus, they are not stuck at the moment but I have been told to use silicone spray and even talcum powder, what are your thoughts as regards the sticking problem and UV protection. Many thanks Ken
breakaleg
Hi, used both, and both worked o.k, but the silcone lasted longer, it will need redoing from time to time, put the silicone on a cloth, so you don't get overspray all over the place. :-D Pete
Guest JudgeMental
My Euramobil manual recommends talcum powder....
Basil
We use 'French Chalk', looks and feels the same as talcum but without the scent, probably nothing between them not sure on price difference. Bas
Brambles
You can get scent free baby talc. Anyway its easy to stop them sticking, bet most have polished the outside of their windows with car polish , well do the inside surface where the seals touch the window as well. Never had a problem since with rubbers sticking to the plastic windows. Jon.
lennyhb
I use silicon grease on the rooflights as they are more prone to sticking but you do get a greasy black smudge in the seal contact area. I use Baby Powder on the window seals, talcum powder is not to be recommended as the perfume additives in it can attack the rubber seals.
