lizken
My driver's door window is blowing a fuse when it reaches the top of the window slide. It appears that there is no stop to prevent the motor trying to keep on after the window is closed. Any ideas, anyone?
Mike B.
Hi There must be a cut out somewhere that's blown/stuck. I would suspect there is a micro switch in the door which should stop it when it reaches the top or hits an obstacle. Suggest you strip the door panels of and see what is there. I can't remember myself but there must be something or all the motors would just burn out Mike
coach2000
I have had to dismantle the window winder on a couple of vehicles, car and minibus. I have never seen any limit switches. They have always been inside the motor and gearbox unit that would be a replacement unit. Clive.
Dave Newell
There are no limit switches fitted, the motor control senses the current required to lift or lower the window and when it hits the end of its travel the motor loads up and draws more current, control unit senses the excess current and switches off. Therefore I'd say your control unit is stuffed. Sorry but I don't know where it lives. D.
