Brians dad Posted November 1, 2010 Share Posted November 1, 2010 Just received my copy of the latest edition of the Big Sites book from CCC. It now has a slightly shrunken page size, which I don't mind. Also, all the club sites are together, which seems a good idea. This book has always in the past been nearly worth the CCC subscription on its own, as it has by far the largest directory of commercial sites in Britain and Ireland. The only thing it seemed to miss out was most of the Caravan Club owned sites, which you can understand, even if it was a bit churlish. However, am I correct in thinking that there are fewer non club commercial sites listed in this edition? I know of a couple of sites locally that are not listed, and the list of Irish sites especially seems much diminished. The book is still quite comprehensive, and a credit to all those staff and volunteers that put it together, but I will still feel cheated if there are sites I don't know about. There seems to be new site popping up like mushrooms, I search the web a fair bit and the uk camp site web site just to see if there are sites about that I don't know about.
