I think you're right to want a full width bar. OUr motorhome was fitted with one when we bought it, and it saved the coachwork when someone shunted us. Only the very expensive trim round the nearside (offside in France) and the bar needed work. The bar looks as good as new.

A quick reminder to all - when travelling in France if you have an accident make sure that the other driver produces the official form that they need to fill in. It was somehow our fault that one was not filled in.

We were not at fault in the accident and that was eventually agreed. Oh! and the French have 6 years to agree a claim. Perhaps the MEP's could use their time usefully to set limits .

Sorry rant over. Goodnight!

Why did they have to have the form and not you? Is it because they are French?

Minstrel, do you happen to know where yours was fitted?

I have emailed the various suggestions above, but have so far drawn a blank with the full length bar at a place nearer to home in sunny Cornwall.

Have tried to look at Sanspec trailers site but cant find it.

Thank you again to all who contributed. 8-)
