Clive
Hot from my inbox! Its not Excel next year then! PRESS RELEASE – PRESS RELEASE – PRESS RELEASE – PRESS RELEASE Birmingham’s NEC will now be the venue for the just-launched motorhome and caravan show, to take place in autumn 2011. Following the recent announcement of a new consumer-facing caravan show at ExCeL, London, the NCC (National Caravan Council) and Clarion Events Ltd (current organisers of the NEC October show), convened to consider the best way forward for exhibitors and potential show attendees. It was clear that having two competing industry shows in October 2011 would lead to confusion for the loyal customers. In an unprecedented move, it was agreed that the NCC will now run one national motorhome and caravan show in October and this show will be held at Birmingham’s NEC. Consequently, NCC Events have agreed to move their new Motorhome and Caravan Show from ExCeL to the NEC. This speedy decision will eliminate potential confusion and ensure marketing initiatives can have clear messaging. NCC Chairman, Rod Tucker, said: “Attendees will enjoy all the core elements of previous events, the only difference is that the October show will now be run by the industry’s trade body. There are substantial long-term strategic advantages to NCC owning the largest motorhome and caravan show in the calendar. Without the commercial needs of an independent exhibition organiser, the NCC can drive innovation and value across every aspect of the exhibition to create compelling value to our customer base.” PRESS RELEASE – PRESS RELEASE – PRESS RELEASE – PRESS RELEASE The NCC (National Caravan Council) announced today that it has entered into a definitive agreement with Clarion Events to secure the tenancy of the NEC exhibition halls, whereby the NCC will run its own industry show in October. This event will follow on from the success of Clarion’s “International Caravan & Motorhome Show”. Following the NCC’s announcement of the industry's new show next October at Excel in London, Clarion Events Ltd and the NCC convened to consider the best way forward for the two exhibition organisers and for exhibitors and potential show attendees. The demographic of the caravan and motorhome owners - and potential owners - is biased to the Midlands and Northern geographical areas. Accordingly, for the wellbeing of the industry, Clarion has offered their NEC tenancy to the NCC, thereby allowing the industry the opportunity to remain at its current venue, albeit that the show will now be run by a new organiser. This means there will be only one caravan and motorhome show in the October calendar and this show will be run by NCC Events Ltd at NEC Birmingham 11-16 October 2011. chris
Well lets hope they look at the cost of entry because that put a lot of people off this year. £19 on the day but £14.50 early booking. They must have had a scare at people not pre-booking as I had loads of e-mails offering even cheaper tickets. I won my tickets as I too would not have paid £38 for 2 adults. Andy_C
Yes, I got the press release too. That's a bit of a turn up! Good news though, especially if it results in lower prices for exhibitors and visitors. I'd be very interested to hear what persuaded Clarion to give up their flagship show....
