Which particular type of gas are you thinking about?

IMO the most usefull detector is for CO (carbon monoxide)

Then there is butane/propane detector

The CO detectors can be of battery type availible just about anywhere nowadays.

The lpg detectors shouldn't be nessasary if you have adequate gas dropouts but if you want to buy one for piece of mind, I think Roadpro and CAK do them, a bit pricey as not widely used like CO and smoke.

Hi

We would recommend a CO detector and a smoke alarm (preferably a 'toast friendly' one), the first mounted as high as possible in the sleeping area and the second as high as possible near the door, together with a fire extinguisher and a fire blanket. The smoke alarm will trigger quickly if you have a fire, the CO alarm will take a bit longer in these circumstances, hence both. If you have a faulty fridge or heating appliance though, the CO alarm will save your life!
