Bulletguy Posted November 24, 2010 Posted November 24, 2010 Divorcee Nigel Page who won £56 million on the Lottery was threatened with legal action by his ex-wife who wanted a slice.....but had walked out on him for another man ten years ago. Apparently she wanted £8 million but reached an out of Court settlement for £2 million. The case has made legal history whilst undoubtedly cause for much debate. From what i've read and heard on the radio it seems the BIG mistake made was not getting a 'clean break' Divorce. But what do you think? Is it right she should have claim.....or is it wrong? http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1331925/Lottery-winner-Nigel-Page-pay-ex-wife-2m-left-10-years-ago.html http://news.sky.com/skynews/UKNews/EuroMillions-Winner-Nigel-Page-Forced-To-Fork-Out-2m-To-Ex-Wife-After-Ten-Year-Divorce/Article/201011415821513?f=rss http://www.thisislondon.co.uk/standard/article-23899933-lotto-winner-must-pay-pound-2m-to-wife-who-left-him-10-years-ago.do

LordThornber Posted November 24, 2010 Posted November 24, 2010 JudgeMental - 2010-11-24 1:57 PM was there children involved? *-) Yes, one, he'd made an offer to deposit £1 million into a trust for their 13 year old. Instead, the £2 million has gone straight to the ex, if you believe what you read in the papers. Martyn

Bulletguy Posted November 24, 2010 Author Posted November 24, 2010 Porky - 2010-11-24 5:04 PM Never believe what I read in the papers. Newspapers reported the 9/11 attack in 2001, the invasion of Iraq in 2003, the 7/7 bomb attacks in London etc etc.........but of course thats all fictional rubbish and nonsense which never happened as you "never believe what I read in the papers". *-) Euromillions winner Nigel Page agreed to give his former partner £2m in an out-of-court settlement, after she tried to sue him for four times as much. The money will go to his ex-wife after his offer to put it into a trust fund for their 13-year-old daughter Ella was turned down. Mr Page, who ran a property maintenance business. is also understood to have agreed to increase maintenance payments for his daughter from £150 a month to £2,000.
