After changing van next year .Want PVC with fixed end single beds (u shaped lounge?) and small diner at front using swivel seats 6 mtr max length ,LWB boxer/ducato Hitop. Prefer 2.2 diesel as heard of trouble with 2.3(reverse etc). Looking to spend around 20-22K hopefully. Any makes worth a look or am I better getting a van professionaly converted(and by which firm?) I think from your discription nearest production van would be Globecar Campscout 636sb, but this is 6.36m long.

http://www.globecar.de/en/models/d-line/campscout.html

p.s. this is 2.3 6 speed and out of your price range, as would any van you would comission to be built.

p.p.s. for secondhand vans you might get a rear lounge with a small up front dinette, but all the ones I've seen have tiny dinettes

also Adria twin SL has the same single rear bed layout as Globecar/Possl

remember these campers are over 6 m long at 636m BUT are very nice!

Oh just saw the budget......:-S

any of these LHD German quality vans will be cheaper then a UK built version I would think

You will not get such a layout in a 6m panel van. Two singles require the bed to be fitted lengthways and by the time you account for the wardrobe, bathroom, fridge, sink etc there simply will not be room for a dinette.

Some compromises will be required.

I agree.

The twin single rear beds will normally come from a rear U-lounge incorporating the motorhome's dining area. With a large dining area at the rear, there will be no reason for the designer of a 6m PVC to attempt to provide a secondary dining facility at the vehicle's front.

Or even this one, which is shown without the dents!  :-)  http://tinyurl.com/2vcuqnn

Problems are: 1) price, and 2) not available UK.

Noooooooo.......your link is to a 636m SL? same layout as Colins globecar more or less. MY LINK to 6m with twin beds, fridge under foot of bed (easy for reaching out for a tinny in the middle of the night) awful hockey stick shaped table, and you would have to be close friends as your legs would have to interlock if sitting opposite each other...it is the worse layout\I have seen, but might be alright for 2 dwarfs :D

Some interesting vans to consider, one i have seen ,though out of my price range is Vantage Sol on 6mtr boxer ,would put picture up if I knew how! Only want small front dinette as er indoors likes to lie in, and I dont. When I said about a conversion, was getting a van about 5 years old about 6k and had a price of about 11/12k for work.would prefer works job though. thanks for ideas interesting.Have Autosleeper (1995) symphony and probably spoilt by quality of conversion against conversions ive seen. Would have mentioned the Sol myself as it delivers what you are probably looking for and very nicely put together. Very well thought out design with quality materials but as you say it does push the price up. Waiting time of about 6 months on them now as they do take about a couple of weeks to build.

Hi Crocket

We struggled to find a decent twin single bed layout with front dining space and finally got what we wanted in the IH Tio RL. It is 6.36m long but anything shorter will always compromise either rear bed length or front dining area.

The main advantage oif the IH over others, for us, is the exclusive rear panel replacing the barn doors. This improves the comfort of the lounge, eliminates draughts and road dust and also provides a huge (for PVC's) boot area.

Unfortunately, it is quite a new design so not many used examples around.

You can view it here:-

Good hunting

The Devon Aztec LWB is 6 metres with 2 singles but not much of a dinette.

A couple of others with twin singles but no real dinette , just swivel front seats. May be possible to modify the designs in a custom build.

Sure there are more companies who will convert to your spec.

This van meets all your requirements except, as others have pointed out, length and it is not on the dreaded Fiat chassis.

That one has a double bed - not the 2 singles required.

The one we looked at at Peterboro show this year could be made up as two singles or a double and if it had not been on the old Renault chassis with the new one due out we may have placed an order, so it does indeed have either option.

I've seen a lot of Montecarlo/Monaco's all have had a small double bed, Devon show no option of twin singles for this model, if they did it would wipe out front dinnete, are you sure you didn't wonder into an Aztec.
