joeandwendybrewer
When tuning in my crank up satellite system I lately seem to find the wrong Satellite i.e.013e 1450.instead of Astra 2. My problem is that I cannot seem to 'remove it' even after the 'umpteen cups of tea'and threats of violence directed at the unit. Can someone give me some advice. Many thanks. Frankkia
I assume by "remove it" you mean that it stays on the Sky box screen. This is normal for the Sky box as it locks on to the first one it "sees". You will have to power the box off and then on again to clear it. When searching for the Astra 2 it is better to start from as far to the east as possible. The problem being that there are several satellites which have frequencies which may be picked up and locked onto by a Sky box. Among them are Astra 3 at 24 deg and Astra 1 at 19 deg and of course the Hotbirds at 13 deg. There is little further east which would cause the problem so start there. Also start a bit lower (Hotbird 13 deg) is slightly higher than Astra 2.
747
You do not say whereabouts you are when having the problem. If you are in the UK, have the dish pointing in a horizontal direction and you may have to nudge it slightly upwards so as to get fine adjustment. As already said, start off to the East of where you need to be. When you are locked on, memorise the code of the correct satellite. That way you can quickly recognise if you are pointing at the right satellite.
