bobalobs
In the "Star Letter" in the latest Practical Motorhome the owner of an Eldis Sunseeker 180 of unstated age but based on the X250 tells of the van being broken into by drilling a small hole under the drivers door handle. I had the same experience with a VW Gollf a number of years ago and had metal "shields" fittedbehind the door handles to stop it happening again. On our 2002 Ducato we had aftermarket deadbolts fitted but on our 2010 X250 the converter said there was no need as deadbolts are factory fitted. A posting on the MHF site states that though "shields" were available for the X250 they do not fit the latest X250 as the lock design has changed. Possibly the Eldis did not have factory deadbolts but if it did they seem to be a waste of space. Any thoughts. I
jhorsf
Well for any crims not knowing how to break in they do now!
hallii
Yes, they might think they know, but in fact you have to know exactly where to drill, 1" down from the handle in line with the centre of the lock. A 4mm drill and 6" length of coathanger will do the job. No! I AM ONLY JOKING!! H
