Hawcara
How do I apply for the sticker? I seem to have read somewhere, that one can send a £5 or thereabouts to an address with a copy of V5 and it arrives in the post. Am I correct in this or can anyone give me the alternative. Thank you (^)
Robinhood
Got mine from (City of) Berlin, with credit card in July last year in advance of travelling. The info has been posted on here before, but I'll have a look for the url.(Previous 'van I simply bought from a TUV station when I got there). Edited to add URLhttps://www.berlin.de/labo/kfz/dienstleistungen/feinstaubplakette.shop.en.php
spospe
We bought ours in Ulm last autumn over the counter at a EuroMaster Tyre depot. It cost us €8-60 for a Transit (3500Kg). You do need the V5. There is no difficulty in getting one in Germany and it does seem to be cheaper to buy one there than trying to organise one here before you go. We have ours fitted into a UK road tax disk holder (you will need to trim the edge of the plakette to get it to fit) and mounted on the UK driver's side. Hawcara
Thank you to both of you. Have just followed Robin Hood's link and sent my 6 euros. Will see what happens. :-D
Robinhood
It worked fine for me. I've just checked and all I attached was a scan of page 2 of the V5C (which has the VIN no and first registration date on - which is all they need). In my memory, it took about 7 days to arrive.I can get by in German, and have no problem buying one there, but it saves the effort of seeking a supplier out. Tony Jones
But if you want, you can do it very easily when you get there - just call in at any major garage, on the outskirts of any major city in 2009 it cost me €5 and ten minutes.
