Bojitoes
Off to Spain tomorrow, but still to decide whether to stop at Cite Europe tomorrow night or push on a little bit. There looks to be a nice aire at Embry, about 60 miles from Calais- has anyone stopped there who can comment please? Thanks Bob
sheer lunar-see
Hi you lucky peeps, stay on the A16 after Boulogne, and stop at the Bai de somme service area, there is a very good safe overnighting area down the back, signposted. It is regularly patroled by the onsite security and does not pose a risk. We wouldnt recomend it if there was. Good luck.
ekka
We stayed at Le Crotoy approx 65 miles south of Calais, very large aire and peaceful spot near the sea, but I cannot be sure of fresh water being on this time of year, from memory about 5 euro pay at meter or maybe free this time of year. Guest pelmetman
Make sure you have a full water tank :D As you will find "eau" a rare commodity North of Carcassone *-) Have a great time :-D
Bojitoes
Thanks for the input, we have filled up 4 5 litre wine flasks with water which should last a couple of days or until we can get some in Leclercs etc. They will be filled with something much more palatable when they have been emptied! coach2000
I have been using this aire for the last 3 years. It costs 6 euros a night and has a spotless Toilet and shower block. There is free hot water in the handbasins and outdoor sink for washing. Tokens are used for showers, electric hookup and water for tankfilling and toilet. Tokens are 2.5 euros each and are obtainable by credit card from a machine. Electric is 4hrs for 1 token as is the shower. 12 minutes. It is one of the best aires I have been on in France, especially for the toilet block. Well worth a try. Clive.
