rolyk
Good choice. Biased of course, because we've got one! Just check that absolutely everything's working. On ours, the Truma Combi didn't work on gas or electricity and the reversing camera worked intermittently. Also, the fridge exhaust pipe hadn't been connected and the fridge was venting into the van. Once these had been fixed we've had no other problems in almost 10,000 miles. I don't expect you'll have similar problems but it's just as well to check everything before leaving Brownhills. Once you've got the van send me a pm and I'll let you have some photos of a few modifications we've done. Roly

mirage
We`ve got the "Warwick" essentially the same except a diesel heater instead of truma, slight difference in seating. Only problems we have had was a seat seam came adrift, recovered under warranty. Also check the rear light clusters do not show any sign of moisture/water ours had to have replacement seals fitted been OK since. Otherwise it been very good, 2.2 engine is more than adequate for motorway gradients in 6th and Alpine Roads are no problem. Driving is far quieter than the older 2.8JTD or the 2.8TD. rolyk
OK Pelmetman, here's some of the van mods with some pics. 1. Installed Fiamma accumulator which has made a significant improvement to the water flow and has stopped the pump from rapid cycling at low flow. 2. Replaced all the naff Peugeot (Fiat) seat bolts with decent high tensile full cap allen bolts. Got them on eBay for around a fiver. I'd recommend this to all X250 owners. 3. Cut back the habitation battery restraining bar to allow access to the battery filler caps. Before doing this it was very diificult to remove the bar due to very limited access. The modification still holds the battery firmly in position, although I haven't tested it with the vehicle inverted! 4. Installed Remisfront cab blinds. On the Peugeot this is made more difficult than the Fiat cab as there is a parcel shelf that needs modifying to allow the blinds to close. I don't think this applies on current Peugeots as the parcel shelf has been omitted (I think). These blinds are absolutely great and would be the first thing that I would do should we change our van. I posted an article on MHFacts http://www.motorhomefacts.com/ftopict-74971-.html 5. In a panel van every bit of storage is useful. On the Warwick Duo, and probably the Warwick, there's a useful compartment that Autosleepers thoughtfully sealed up! It's rather larger that it looks in the photo and it's easily made accessible by unscrewing the flat panel under the offside backrest and refixing it using Velcro strip. In fact the nearside compartments can be made far more accessible in the same manner. 6. After two years using a Multimo sat dish I bit the bullet and installed a Camos Dome. Wonderful bit of kit and, even though it's the 30cm high one, it still picked up BBC / ITV / Ch 4 & 5 on the Med last summer. I've two sat receivers but generally tend to use the Sky Pace box as it's so much better having a full programme guide. 7. The sliding side door is not one of the X250 panel vans best features. Not only is it difficult to close but on our van it let in water at the top during very heavy rain. The difficult closing can be improved by adjusting the door brackets so that the door doesn't compress the seal too much and the water ingress can be cured by fixing a rubber P seal to the underside of the top of the door opening. The photo shows just a short length of seal. Have a look here on how install it http://www.motorhomefacts.com/ftopict-74097-.html 8. Autosleepers fit a rubber hose to the underslung gas tank. This hose was too short and putting a strain on the end swage so I replaced it with a stainless Gaslow which should last for many years. 9. I've fitted a NASA BM1 Compact battery monitor which gives a reasonably accurate assessment of the state of the habitation battery. Not essential but a useful bit of kit, nevertheless. 10. I've done all the recommeded scuttle mods to prevent rainwater entering the engine bay. It's probably around 80% effective and it has alleviated the dreadful belt squeal we had when starting the engine after heavy rain. Anyway, hopefully all this might be useful to some of you. elzebar
Hello, We also have a Warwick and also got ours from Brownhills. We have had a few problems with ours on our first trip out on the way home the ECU went on the M5, Then it happened again so now we are on our third ECU and fingers crossed. Our problem now is that we seem to be having the rain coming through the slide door window? Has anyone else had this problem, We took it for its 2 year service yesterday and the guy said we will have to take it back to Brownhills, Bit of a long drive as we are now in Pembrokeshire and not in Lincoln anymore and we know they will probably tell us to take it to Autosleeper in Warwick. Apart from these little probs we love our Van so have fun and enjoy we certainly are. (lol)
Rayjsj
Elzebar, We bought our Autocruise Starburst from Brownhills (at the Malvern show) the van came from the Newark branch, but because we live in Pembrokeshire they ferried it to their Swindon branch, which is the branch we collected it from. I'm sure that they would deal with your problems from the Swindon branch if you ask them, still quite a drive 130 miles but a lot closer than Newark, We (so far) have nothing but praise for the way we have been treated by brownhills, a fault (water leak) with the Eberspacher water heater was swiftly dealt with (we were able to stay on their 'Aire' at Swindon overnight) and a new 'Calorifier' was 'pre-ordered' and fitted while we waited (a meal at the local pub 25% off, courtesy of brownhills). Give them a ring. Ray ;-) Pembrokeshire is a bit 'Barren' as motorhome dealers go, nearest 'fair sized' one is at 'Cross hands' in Camarthernshire. mirage
Whilst on the subject has anyone had the diesel heater serviced and if so how did you get to it?
Rayjsj
No, But there is a list of Eberspacher dealers nationwide on their website. 'Tracker' put me on to a good one in Swansea ,which is close enough for me. 'Regular' motorhome dealers don't tend to have enough expertise, but that could be changing as they (diesel heaters) become more widespread in Motorhomes. Remember that diesel heaters/hot water have been more popular on all types of boats for a long time, as it (diesel) is far safer (doesn't 'settle' in the bilges like Butane/propane with disasterous results.) So a dealer at a boatyard or a marina might be closer to you. http://www.eberspacher.com/dealers/ regards Ray ;-) After all that just thought that the Autosleeper diesel heater might be a 'Webasto' rather than an 'Eberspacher' ?
