cyclops2
I'm in the processof installing a rear view camera to my Duetto. So far I have secured monitor, run cable through van, cut hole in rear and connected every thing up. Now need to secure camera. It was suggested to me to secure camera in place with self tappers until glue goes off. Question is what glue? I have Sikaflex-221 but heard somewhere you will need dynamite to remove. The other option is silicon with maybe a couple of dabs of Sika. Problem is it needs at least 5 dgrees C. Haven't had that temperature for days. Any help appreciated
silverback
hi cyclops2, dont know about what glue your on about :-S but, the camara should have a rubber pad what comes with it (to stop vibration)this pad should have a protective cover on each side what you peel off, revealing sticky sides, then stick the camara in the desired place (with the pad on) and secure with self tappers or stainless bolts... thats what ive done anyway hope this helps jonathan
RhinoInstalls
If you are using self tappers, all you need is some form of Silicon, Sealer to stop water getting through the screw into the van. I would suggest something like sikka, also if you keep the sealer warm inside then use it, it will be fine Phil
cyclops2
Thanks Jonathon and Phil. Trouble is the back of my Van slopes forward a bit so to get a close up of the rear it needs a spacer at the top. I've used two thicknesses of the pad at the top and filled in with Sika. It looks ok just waiting to see if it goes off Cheers Pete
