Derek Uzzell
Poppy - 2011-02-04 8:20 AM A new outside table. We have an inside one, German and wholly unsuitable for outside use.Quite like the look of those that roll up. Is this the sort of table you have in mind? http://tinyurl.com/5szde2o We've used one of these for a few years. It's very light for its size and (when disassembled) takes up very little room. It was too high for our folding chairs originally, so I reduced the length of the legs by a few centimetres. There is a potential downside to this particular design. The disassembled table fits very tidily within its storage bag, so takes up little storage space within the motorhome. However, before the table can be put into its bag, a number of plastic fittings must first be removed from the upper aluminium 'slats' to allow them to be rolled up, and the 'frame' must be separated into 3 sections. Similarly, when the table is removed from its bag, the frame sections must be reassembled and the plastic fixings reattached (in the correct positions) to the slats before the table's top surface can be attached to the frame. The procedure is not difficult once you've got the hang of it, but does mean that, before you can use the table or store it away properly, a few minutes of work will be required. silverback
agree with Derek as above, cos we have one, only downside is we find it slightly unstable/wobbly sometimes jonathan
Mel B
Not sure why some have a problem with the roll up table shown. Ours consists of the slat top, 2 horizontal poles that make the top rigid, and the leg section, 4 parts in total. We don't have to remove the plastic bits on the slats - we just lift the slat top off the leg section, then remove the 2 horizontal poles from the base of the slat top and instead of rolling up the slates, they simply flip (consertina style) against each other (2 at a time if memory serves) with the plastic connectors on the outside. It is then in 4 pieces and goes into the bag quite easily with the slats first then the leg section, and the 2 poles. The only 'difficulty' can be in getting the holes on the horizontal bars lined back up with the base of the slats and the top of the legs, but once you've got the hang of it, it's quick and easy. Tony Jones
silverback - 2011-02-04 9:48 AM agree with Derek as above, cos we have one, only downside is we find it slightly unstable/wobbly sometimes jonathan We have a table with four adjustable legs - can't remember where we got it, but I've seen similar ones around from time to time. This not only cures the "wobble," it enables you to use whichever chairs you want, and set the table at just the right height. Great for us, beacuse space dictates we only have two outside chairs - folding recliners - which have to do for both relaxing with a book and pulling up to the table. Here's one similar, though ours doesn't have a handle: http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/partNumber/9278431/c_1/1%7Ccategory_root%7CSports+and+leisure%7C14419152/c_2/2%7C14419152%7CCamping%7C14419397/c_3/3%7Ccat_14419397%7CCamping+chairs+and+tables%7C14419418.htm (Sorry about the long URL, I fear it'll make the whole thread really wide - again!)
