Robinhood
See this thread from last month.http://www.outandaboutlive.co.uk/forums/forums/thread-view.asp?tid=22227&posts=6Berlin has always been 6 euros, and it worked for me last year (by credit card). You need to be able to scan your V5C to attach a copy.Might be worth PM'ing Hawcara and seeing if he got his. Barney123
Hi, you just photo copy your log book, put it in an envelope with a 5 Euro note, with a covering note thanking them for the Umwelt and post it to an address in Koln which I am trying to dig out for you at this moment. There are many other places you can send it to and maybe before I come up with the address, I know someone else may come in with another one. Will try and get back to you by tomorrow Cheers

Tony Jones
But there's really no need to buy it in advance Barrie. Any major garage (eg main dealer, not necessarily of your own make) can issue them on the spot on production of your V5, and then it IS only €5 - and wherever you buy it, the disc is valid for all German cities. Robinhood
jsbc - 2011-02-04 7:04 AM Hi I live in New Zealand and will probably be travelling in germany this or next year what is it and why do you have to have it .I have spent months in and around Germany in 86 95 03 04 never heard of it. A fairly good explanation is on the English pages of http://www.umwelt-plakette.de/ Note: this is a commercial rather than official site, and as there are much cheaper ways of buying the Umweltplakette, I DON'T recommend purchase from here. The classifications available, and the colour by vehicle are probably better explained on http://www.lowemissionzones.eu/countries-mainmenu-147/germany-mainmenu-61/berlin (which, though it is a Berlin page, applies across Germany).HTH
Hawcara
Robin Hood's first link is the one to use. I followed his advice and did it last month. I scanned my V5 page 2, paid by credit card 6 euros and a few days later the sticker ( like a tax disc) arrived through the post. Simples! :-D
Robinhood
Hawcara - 2011-02-04 8:28 AM Robin Hood's first link is the one to use. I followed his advice and did it last month. Simples! :-D Glad it worked for you :-)Just to be clear, the link we are talking about is contained in the other thread I've referenced at the start of this one; it is not the (expensive) link contained in the post directly above Hawcara's in this thread. The one to use is:https://www.berlin.de/labo/kfz/dienstleistungen/feinstaubplakette.shop.en.php

spospe
Just to re-state what I have mentioned in earlier threads, it is perfectly easy to get a Plakette in Germany 'over the counter' as it were from any authorised outlet. I got mine from a Euromaster tyre depot in Ulm. To display it I fitted it into a UK road tax disk holder and mounted it on the UK driver's side. I used a tax disk holder so that it can be easilly moved in the event of having a broken windscreen (had two in 7 years). It is necessary to slightly trim the Plakette to get it to fit. I have been previously told that the disk should be attached directly to the glass (it is sticky), but several police officers have seen my method without making any comment (on the Aire / Stellplatze at Ulm).
