bob b
A new ten part series starts on Monday. Author Dan Dorey travels around Britain in his 1970's Camper van, cooking as his goes. It begins in Devon, where he fishes and forages for food.Looks like it could be watchable.
Guest pelmetman
Is it a repeat? Pretty sure we've seen something along those lines before. We watch a lot of tele especially cooking programmes. :$ Sue

malc d
If it's about a camper van I may give it a try, if it is yet another b****y cookery programme, I won't. (lol)

Yep, I didnt know there was still such a thing as a "video recorder" :-D I still have three Sony SLV-715 vcr's. One I have owned from new and is 25 years old. When new they sold at around £500 each so they weren't a cheap vcr by any means (a cheap vcr could be bought for as little as £120). Not only are all three still fully working.......but all parts are still available from Sony and they can be repaired.

malc d
Just watched it. As I feared,it's just another cookery programme. Most of the cooking is 'outdoors' and not even in the van. And when cooking on the beach he didn't seem to be aware that the tide comes in ! Don't think I'll be watching any more of 'em. ( Nice van though ) ;-)
art338
Just watched some of it (15 mins) Bloody awful !!! Its got sod all to do with camping, its just a made up series of pictures of the presenters face, and his food. Looks like lots of wild camping which passes the wrong information. I will never look at another one. A great pity as there are great possibilities. To rephrase it there WERE. art
David Dwight
What about the comment "The best thing with a camper is you can just stop anywhere for the Night" what planet was he on? David

Most definately won't be able to get parts for them or repair work done.
bob b
I was a bit disappointed too, but will give it another go. I'll watch it tomorrow as its filmed in the New Forest.
Usinmyknaus
Apparently we can now camp anywhere and cook outside anywhere. I seem to have missed those simple facts whilst living in these islands of motorcaravanning nirvana in the past three and a half years. No doubt many local councils are raiding emergency reserve funds this morning to order more, and even lower, height barriers! Bob ;-)
ips
I agree that the comments regarding "stopping anywere" was somewhat misleading for joe public however I quite enjoyed the program. Not a clue who he is though, he stated that he wasnt a chef... so what is he then. :-S Oh and the statement of doing it in a "70's" van was pushing it a bit as it was a V reg which if memory serves me correct is 79-80 so only just then. :-D
Guest pelmetman
We watched it, thought Dave would want the news on but without me saying a word he switched it over, luckily Dave loves the cooking programmes and is an excellent cook, indeed he does a lot of our meals. The cooking part was very ordinary and we certainly didn't learn anything we didn't already know but nevertheless enjoyed it. If for nothing else the scenery was good. It was easy watching with no bad language unlike that awful Gordon Ramsey. Sue
big olga
Hi, I watched it to-day ,I recorded it on our Sky HD box, I found it informative and interesting and laughed out loud at the "Banjo surprize",I will make these on our next outing! Now that we are in the worst resession since the 1930s perhaps we could learn from the programme and use some of the ideas that our "hunter gatherers" forefathers used; I liked the idea of boiling the spuds in seawater and wrapping the fish in damp paper to poach it. Also finding the herbs in the hedgrow. I also liked the photography and the editing; they did not use the speed up button in the video suite as the rest do!
