oldlowie
Hi all, I've searched the archives for a thread on replacing the dreaded Ducato/Boxer CD radio with an after-market CD/mp3/iPod player, but with no luck. Has anyone replaced the original unit successfully, and if so what adaptors did you need to buy to fit it? I've got steering wheel controls, so what do I need to do to keep them working? I replaced the original radio in my last m/h, a Tranny, with a Sony unit quite easily, it's just that the Boxer adaptor leads seem a bit confusing, especially with the s/w controls. 8-) Any help would be gratefully received... :-D :-D :-D
Robinhood
Dave Newell posted recently on this at: http://www.outandaboutlive.co.uk/forums/forums/thread-view.asp?tid=22184&posts=8 If you want to keep the steering wheel controls, you'll need the appropriate harness AND a unit that is compatible with the steering wheel controls. Patricia
I have an older Ducato (which does not switch off after 20 mons) but it does not have steering wheel controls. A couple of years ago I made enquiries about having them fitted and was told they did not exist for Fiats. I would be interested to know if the situation has changed. lennyhb
If it is only the 20 min cut off that bothers you why not just rewire it to leisure battery, it really should have been done by the converter in the first place.
