Guest Peter James
How Much??????? - 2011-03-26 4:33 PM Doesnt oil emulsify when it gets wet? I tried pouring cold water over it, and it just runs off. Not expecting it to last very long though, as nothing else did.
Guest peter
Cattwg - 2011-03-23 5:40 PM High How Much??????? Is your Back to Black method for restoring your bumper permanent? If memory serves correctly B to B is basically a silicone spray and only lasts a few weeks. I could be mistaken but in any case I would be interested in how long the refurbishment lasts. Cattwg :-DThat's the same stuff, silicone polish. Quick cheap and easy.
Guest peter
bazooka - 2011-03-26 4:24 PM Hi Lenny, just tried the olive oil on grey bumpers, looking good. Baz (lol)Sorry to tell you this, but Olive Oil gradually disolves the plastic used in these bumpers. :-( Not really. :D

How Much
Years ago, we scraped the bumper of a Ford Escort hire car down my mates gate post. It was a right mess. Five minutes with a tin of Kiwi boot polish, and it was gleaming again. :-D
Guest Peter James
Peter James - 2011-03-25 4:44 PM lennyhb - 2011-03-13 11:27 AM Olive Oil works just as well as any of the bumper care products & if you want to be a cheapskate you don't have to use "Extra Virgin" (lol) Thanks for that Tried Olive Oil and it works better than any of the proper products I have used before :-) Well I tried Olive OIl and it looked great at first. But unfortunately all the road muck stuck to it, so I had to scrub it off again.
Guest Peter James
euroserv - 2011-03-11 5:50 PM There are some products that you can wipe over the affected area but without exception they wash off and always end up with streaky marks running down the bumper. Looks awful. Nick Yes, I have discovered that too.

It was a right mess. Five minutes with a tin of Kiwi boot polish, and it was gleaming again. :-D Sounds like a plan. I had a Ford Cortina 2000E in metallic gold with brown vinyl roof which had faded in the sun. Ford dealer told me the only cure was recovering the roof. But brown shoe polish brought it up like new and lasted about 6 months before it needed redoing.
