John.N
It's good that the Caravan Club has included site co-ordinates in the new edition of the Caravaan Europe 1 guide but why have they chosen the format of degrees and decimal points whereas the ACSI guide uses the more usual degrees and minutes? Which is the odd one out?. More seriously they have omitted to indicate whether the longitude is East or West of Greenwich which can have disastrous consequences. tonyg3nwl
Hi, Degree or not degrees, that is the question.... In reality it makes no difference provided there are enough decimal points in the given figure. eg e1.09876 n51.23456 would be sufficient to get you close enough to be within spitting distance and bear in mind that west has to be entered with a negative sign to convert just remember 60 minutes per degree, and 60 seconds per minute. Most satnags can be persuaded to accept either format, Bear in mind that postcodes can be way off required location so dont use them., Also satnags often dont chose best routeing so use your brains as well and read the maps tonyg3nwl
