Went out for lunch yesterday in Ludlow, found a nice pub that would let the pooch in.

Ordered two Venison Burgers with hand cut chips ....£20:D ................Unfortunately it turned out to be a very DEER meal in more ways than one, as there were bits of bone in the homemade burgers and Sue managed to fracture her tooth :'(

So went back to Ludlow today this time to the dentist!............£205 8-)..........Now my wallets got indigestion :D

Away with work for the last two days and ate out at a pub last night, starter was Seafood Platter (Battered King Prawns, Scampi, Shrimps, Mackeral and Salmon, with two dips and a large slice of Bloomer bread) followed by 'Wild Boar' Burger with Salad and Chips and a Plum & Apple Chutney. Decent size portions and the bill............. £14.00 result !!!

Nope, that happened 5 weeks earlier when the OH bit into a slice of toast and broke a tooth. Went to Dentist and told she needed a crown, cost her £200 !! Disappointed when she got the crown and discovered it wasn't encrusted with diamonds and rubies.

Told her to make sure that next time she defrosts the bread when it comes out the freezer :D :D

  • 2 weeks later...

I think I'd be having a serious moan at the owner about the bone in the burger, as an ex butcher I do appreciate it's nigh on impossible for this to be avoided, however, for it to be that big that it broke a tooth suggests that it came through a large plate in the mincer.

Which in turn suggests that someone should be handling the meat to spot any fragments. There's almost zero chance of spotting anything that's gome through a small plate in a mincer.

At the very least a free meal or best a contribution to the dentists bill, get in there Dave 8-)

We did think about it :D ........But to be fair Sue's molar was more filling than tooth :D...

I also had a piece of bone 8-) it was just one of those things, its not as though it was done maliciously ;-)

Butcher to social worker 8-) ..........thats a bit of a career change (?) :D

I'm not one to go sueing like some of our US friends but, bones in a burger is nigh on criminal, I'd have been on to them in seconds and put in a bill for new teeth. Was there a note that said beware of bones?

Perhaps the wild animal title means whatch out there's bones about

The expense didn't stop there - ever since the £205 filling I've been in agony all week.

Visited my own dentist who seems to think I've got an infection under the new filling as the emergency dentist has taken the filling deep into my gum. So been on antibiotics all week.

Last time I ever eat a burger :-(

Its that WIld bit of the burger. Running about in the wilds of Wales treading in lots of wild unhealthy stuff, there's nothing like a good bit of friendly piggy for breakfast, all this wild stuff sounds great but there's untold mystery's in them thar forests.

Like the actors who quote 'break a leg' Wild Boar burgers could have the 'break a tooth' additive

Sorry to hear about your ordeal. I feel a new thread coming on about Dentists, so as not to clutter up this one.
