corkbuoy
Hi I need to replace a rear wheel bearing on my 1998 Fiat Ducato Maxi Chassis camper. Does anyone have the torque setting for the retaining nut please ? thanks corkbuoy
Derek Uzzell
I notice you've asked this on a couple of other forums and that you've had an answer from one - basically, that the type of bearing involved means that retaining-nut is tightened by 'feel' rather than to a specific torque-setting. Not sure if you've tried the Fiat forum for another opinion http://www.fiatforum.com/ but that would have been my first port of call.

Brambles
14.5 lb ft while turning hub to seat bearings in races then loosen off and finger tight. Set so end play is 0.025mm to 0.1 mm. In other words the tiniest of tiniest of play. Deform flange on nut into groove to lock, do not split the metal when knocking in. Jon p.s. A new nut must be used.
