Burstner drop down bed

If you have read my post about windows you will know I was nosing around someone else's van this week, one of the things that became obvious was that the owners drop down bed was far easier to lift than mine. It seemed to be "balanced" whereas I struggle to even lift mine and wonder if it adjustable in any way ? I also got a look at his reversing camera, mine is rubbish and you can just about make out what is going on, his was far clearer ( these are both Burstner genuine systems) . I do wonder if mine has condensation it but having a quick look from the outside it is not obvious how you might open it. It could of course be the monitor but it is very had to find out where the problem lies. The chap I was with did replace the rear camera element recently at a cost of £600 !! He was told he could not use a cheaper camera because the wiring was different, I would have thought some kind of converters were available to allow fitting a different brand but of course I know nothing.

If your bed is more dificult to lift it would be my guess that the rams have failed. I have just replaced the rams on my drop bed and it was not a hard job, but has made a huge difference to the ease with which the bed raises. See this thread: http://www.outandaboutlive.co.uk/forums/forums/thread-view.asp?tid=23784&posts=2

With regard to the camera, does the guy have too much money or just have mug tattooed on his forehead, Jeez, £600 for a camera!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Replacement cameras and converter leads are available from http://shop.reversingcamerasuk.com/epages/es106294.sf?gclid=COG09pz3nKkCFYUXzQodpC3Isw :

I have nothing to do with this company and give infomation as a satisfied customer only, simply hope this helps you.
