JeffersonCampervan
Looking at the Camping Athens website, I see this: "AIR CAMPING 9,00 €" What is that - anything like "air guitar" - do I sit at home & pretend I'm camping in Greece? :-S Seriously though, is it a preferred site with a view or something? http://www.campingathens.com.gr/en/pricelist.asp
Brian Kirby
Hi Frank. I have no idea, but we were there last autumn, so if you want any details, including an accurate GPS for the entrance, I'll let you know. Otherwise, just beware pickpockets/bag dippers especially on the metro!

JeffersonCampervan
Thanks Don & Brian! Brian - the GPS co-ordinates would be great to punch into my Garmin. How easy is transit from the Camping into the centre?

Brian Kirby
Hi Frank Co-ords: N38.00872 E23.67172. That is pretty much spot-on for the turn off. Site is on Leoforous Athinon, about 4 miles NW of the Acropolis. Transit in to centre easy. Bus from outside site, across dual carriageway. There is a (much ignored by drivers!) pedestrian crossing outside the site, if you're feeling brave, otherwise a short walk up Leoforous Athinon are traffic lights where it is generally safe to cross, and where the locals seem to cross. Nice lady in reception speaks excellent English sells tickets, and will help with directions. Athens metro is easy to negotiate for getting from bus station elsewhere. Tickets are timed, so can be used on bus and metro for a single trip. If you don't mind the walk, there is a supermarket, AB Vasilopoulos, half a mile up Leoforous Athinon. Brian Kirby
Might be better to go for anti-riot gear! :D
