You want a proper bbq not a gas cooker :D.........................We cook allsorts on ours...........see burger and chips thread :D .............fish is great just wrapped in foil with a bit of wine and a few herbs, baked potatoes again wrapped in foil and bunged underneath the grill........peppers stuffed with blue cheese.....beefsteak tomatoes sprinkled with oregano salt/pepper and a bit of olive oil B-)

The list is endless................don't forget desserts....banna's in their skins with a small slit in the side where you stuff a piece of chocolate and it all melts.....yum yum....looks disgusting on the plate though (lol) (lol) (lol)

Give up using the BBQ we did years ago, never regretted it. Less weight to carry no messing about waiting ages for the charcoal to light & get up to temperature.

Rather spend our time doing something interesting than hoping a bit of burnt wood is going to get hot enough to cook our dinner.

If you have the CADAC Chef then you should have also got a Recipe book with it which told you how to get the best out of the Cadac, not just BBQ but using the lid as a WOK for stir fry's or the other cooking plates for Desserts (Pancakes and the like).

There is also a range of Camping Recipe Books, not just for BBQ cooking I hasten to add, visit Amazon or even use the Internet to get recipes from the TV programmes e.g. www.Channel 4/Recipes

Too many oysters David. Must be repeating on you!

Thanks for the replies, I've had the cadac for a couple of years now so must look in the box to see if I did get a recipe book with it. Being a typical man I just assembled it and didn't pay attention to any literature which came with it!

Why bother? Have they stopped cooking food in restuarants??

Seriously you don't want to be eating BBQ food thats burnt. I listened once to a cancer specialist who said he would never eat BBQ food, its too dangerous to eat burnt fat, or any burnt food.

But I also know of a doctor who suggested that eating a small amount of charcoal was a good liner for the stomach *-) Make sure the embers are cool before devouring though :D

Eric, humour seldoms translates well on forums, and I was not trying to tell you off. Cancer is a very serious subject, I know believe me. Have a good weekend.

I totally agree with you about Cancer, not suffered personally and I hope I never do but my sister has and I know the effects it has on both the sufferer and close family coming to terms with it. However, following the thread there were quite a few 'tongue in cheek' responses from a few contributors to the OP. I did at least try to use Emoticons to reflect that it was humour. I guess when you do not use Emoticons but Exclamation Marks it sends out a diferent message don't you think

:-S But let's not get into a bun fight and call it a misunderstanding, you have an enjoyable weekend as well :D
