DonB
We will be visiting the Dusseldorf show this year after several failed attempts, hoping to arrive afternoon/evening on Sunday 28th Aug. Any tips regarding the show and camping and anything else relevant, would be much appreciated.
Den
The camping area is first class and costa 9Euro per night, arrive after 4 pm and its free the first night. Bendy busses take you to the arena (Salon) The camping area is next to the river, great to walk or ride into Town or turn right out of the Camping area for a good Pub Food is served in the Evenings by the bars near the Water/ Waste station. Food is first class. This year they are celebrating there 50th anniversary In the show you need at least 2 days its Enormous, makes the NEC look inadequate. Quite a few UK Mh's going, take a look on the MHfacts Forum, type ih Dusseldorf. We should arrive on Sept 1st or 2nd for 3 full days 4 nights. Frankkia
The week end is usually very busy and the camping areas packed - we find it better to arrive Tuesday (after 4pm and pay for Tuesday and Wednesday (you pay for the day not the night) leaving very early on Thursday morning. As mentioned above: join the club and save on parking and entrance fees. Give yourself plenty of time - the show is huge - makes the NEC look like a garden shed sale! Eating out is good. Either in the tent set up with FREE evening entertainment or catch the free bendy bus into the altstadt where there are plenty of pubs with good food plus the usual array of pizza and other fast food joints. go for a walk around the camping area - 'vans are there from all over Europe and it can be just as interesting as the show. Note: do not queue for the bendy bus - just get on it! - they will think you are German!
