Mountain_Biker
Hello Just got back from a glorious 3 weeks in France - on the way back stopped at an Aire which had a service point. It had a water connection that looked like a High Pressure Air line - does anyone know what type of connector these are please? ( and if needed, where I can get one from please?) Thanks (?) hallii
I have also come across that type of connector, and, despite some experience of air connectors, I cannot identify them. I suspect they may be hydraulic connectors but without the other half to try different fittings onto it will be difficult to identify. I wonder if the ones I have come across are, in fact, the same as each other, maybe each commune is using something slightly different? H
Guest Tracker
If anyone has a picture of this connector someone might recognise it and know how to connect?
ian81
....nothing fancy you just need a male hozelock connector. Push it in and water gushes out!! Pull back the outer ring on the bourne to release your connector. Works brilliantly with a hose but not so easy for filling smal containers. Guest Tracker
Thanks Ian - I carry a 1 litre ice cream tub with almost every connector known to mankind in it - and room for a few more - but thought that I may have missed one!
peejay
Ian is on the money I think. Just to be a total anorak (lol) We stayed at the aire at Chateaudun recently and it had one of these connectors, I couldn't use it because the only thing I didn't have was a male to male hoselock connector. The service point at Chateaudun was made by Urbaflux and the connector is called a 'Raccord Rapide Eau'. Best photo I can find is.... http://www.urbaflux.fr/IMG/jpg/raccord_rapide-2.jpg Link to Urbaflux website.... http://www.urbaflux.fr/-Aire-de-services-camping-car- ..and this is the hozelock connector you'll need to connect to a standard hoselock female connector.. http://www.swelluk.com/img/shop/thumb/hozelock-double-male-connector-2-2291.jpg Can't get images to appear on the page :-S Pete
eljay
Peejay, you are spot on. I was at Chateaudun about three weeks ago and helped out an American who had a Hertz-owned Pilote. He had a hose in the garage but it was only provided with a connection suitable for a domestic tap - the glorified jubilee clip type. J
sshortcircuit
Spot on Ian. On a site out of Caen and have hired a valve to allow connection. It is a 25mm gate valve with male hozelock connected to either side. Got very wet the first time I connected.
