berreta Posted July 16, 2011 Share Posted July 16, 2011 Hi all Could any off you wise people help a friend of mine,he has a autotrail chieftain 2011 model the warning buzzer for the side entry step stays on all the time.He has taken this to Brownhills and they cannot find the problem,also the vehicle battery is losing its charge. Keithl Posted July 16, 2011 Share Posted July 16, 2011 Hi Derek, It sounds as though the switch on the back of the step mechanism has failed or got stuck and then the step does not switch off the power (and buzzer) and so is flattening the battery. As a quick remedy try opening and closing the step a few times to see if it can be cured that way, but only as a temporary measure, it will need fixing properly once the true fault is identified. Be very careful if working on the step as it may move of it's own accord and easily trap fingers or worse. Keith. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

rolandrat Posted July 17, 2011 Share Posted July 17, 2011 Is there a fuse box behind the drivers seat, it will be very small if there is and you will need a pair of long nosed pliars to isolate the circuit thats causing the problem until you can get it fixed.
