tugga
Morning members I thought I would ask this question of any other Hymer (on a Fiat Ducato) owners out there, we cannot get any radio station once we leave the Sandy area (and the Sandy Heath Transmitter). We have an Alpine radio that also is the screen for our reversing camera and we can only listen to our Ipod, which is not much help if we want traffic updates. We have been told so far: its in the windscreen and or its in the reversing mirror. Before we start taking things to bits to see if it is connected, it would help to know for sure where it is. Thanks for your help Cheryl

Mr. Grumpy
But on your Hymer they may have replaced the mirrors, especially if it is an A class, and forgotten to fit a replacement aerial!
tugga
Mr. Grumpy - 2011-07-20 9:40 AM But on your Hymer they may have replaced the mirrors, especially if it is an A class, and forgotten to fit a replacement aerial! Mmmm, that sounds like a possibility. Thanks. We now have a starting point to look for the lead to see if its connected at the back of the radio. Sundowner
When we bought our '09 Adria Comfort last November, the radio reception was terrible. I was not certain whether or not the aerial was incorporated into the wing mirror, so asked for advise from our local car radio specialist. He was of the opinion that when the low profile body was fitted, the original roof- mounted aerial was cut off,and never replaced. He then fitted a new aerial on the nearside wing, and reception is acceptable now except on long wave, where there is too much interference when the engine is running. I have been unable to contact said specialist to rectify this, so I am living with it for the time being, it is only a problem when travelling in Europe.
