peterjl
I need travel insurance to cover;- 1. Multitrip 2. Up to 60 days away any one trip and 3. to let me ride my m/cycle (600cc – towed behind m/home) and 4. to walk at up to 3500m (a height you can access by train or cable car)and 5. perhaps to do some other interesting activities if the opportunity presents itself eg have a hot air balloon trip which I am hoping to do this October. Last year I found only one company (Fortis/Ageas through safeguard) but the premium has almost doubled this year – perhaps because I’m now 61? +, looking to the future, they will not cover me once I am 65!! Carol Nash – with whom I insure my bike will provide travel insurance cover, with all the trimmings I need, but only for 31 days The CC policy says it will cover my biking for an extra premium but as basic premium is 260% of what I paid last year that’s not really on + they say no to dangerous activities without really defining what they mean and when you do get a list out of them it looks a little odd. Also when I telephoned they seemed unsure about covering a bike over 600cc even though it is specifically mentioned in the policy document. I have trawled through money super market, became quite excited about one policy but when I phone they only cover the bike on single trips. Mostly they all seem to either limit to 31 days, exclude bikes over 125cc, or have other restrictions such as walking at over 2000m. I am bug eyed from reading the small print on policies! Soooo, I know there are other bikers out there – who do you insure with? Peter
tonyishuk
It might be worth having a word with Graham Plant at Heritage Insurance Services Address: 88a, The Street Postcode: BN16 3NJ City/Town: Rustington, Littlehampton (West Sussex) Main phone: 01903 770011 He has handled our insurances for years and has always got us good , RELIABLE insurance companies ( as in no hassel if there is a problem, unlike some insurance companies) Although he is a broker, his quotes are very near to the online ones, the differnce being, he knows what he is seling you.
