kenso_ukyahoo.co.uk
Hi All, I wish to install a 100w panel but am not sure about the ins & outs of it. I would like to use it to charge both the leisure & vehicle batteries. Is it just a matter of running the cable from the panel to the dual controller and then running the cables to both batteries. What happens if the batteries are different types, cable size etc & is there a configeration for connecting the system up. I have seen panels on Ebay which are Mono Crystalline are they any good. Any help greatly appreciated. Thanks.
Clive
The instalation instructions will be with the solar controller. If these are not specific enough for you then perhaps you would be better off having a professional install the kit for you. Sorry not to answer your question in detail but I have this feeling that you may be a little out of your depth and would not wish to encourage you to get into trouble.. Take care C. lennyhb
I brought a cheap ebay one earlier in the year it has performed faultlessly at this time of year with a good clear sky gives out more than it's rated output. As Clive says with your limited knowledge you may be best taking advice it can get complicated, I found out the type of Schaudt Elektoblock charger unit I have in my van will not charge on mains if a standard charge controller is connected to the battery I had to use an expensive Schaudt charge controller. Having said that it was very easy to install apart from getting the cables through the van and total cost was less than half the cost of going to a dealer.
