Who do you think you will vote for in the next general election? call me Dave and his mob or for the other lot.

I dont think I will be voting therefore I cannot complain over whatever new legislation that they bring in, so i will just carry on in my own sweet way of looking after me and my own.

Shouldn't we wait and see what their policies are first ?

Why wait for their policies, they always differ beyond recognition once they are voted in

That may be true but if you wish to vote for someone, how will you decide which party if you ignore their policies ?

(I suppose you could always do what the media tells you to do).

The only difference between the three main parties is the colour of their ties*-)
The country has been run by the Oxbridge set in league with big business for decades;-)
I'd vote Screaming Lord Such, he's the only one who talked any sense:D

Are you expecting an Election soon? From what I saw on the TV today Government vistors don't seem to be getting a very friendly reception on the streets so I suppose it depends on how the current difficulties pan out and whether they make an impression on voters. The current situation might bring into question some of the cuts that are being made particularly to the police. Even if this Goverment does go to the full term I suspect the economic situation won't we massively better than it is now and in those circumstances people often vote for change, regardless of what that change brings in its wake! Right wheres me Michelin Road Atlas of France!!!!

I'll vote for the party that declares martial law on rioters and looters and mobilises the army to the streets to sort them out. These rioters and looters want to play at tough guys, lets see how tough they are when faced with a platoon or two of squaddies with live ammo and a "shoot to kill" order! Give me a gpmg, I'll stop the thieving scum!

Hello,

Any chance that you could give us your list of questions in one go KoR? Dripping them out is not good for my attention span.......

However, I'll vote for me......I'd make a good benevalent dictator........... :D

I would say that the electorate would like a vote on the restoration of capital punishment, a vote to pull out of the EU a vote to pull out of middle east war zones and to stop giving our tax monies away to all and sundry.

I think it was interesting that no one party got a majority last time. We have accepted the LibCon muddle as the alternative was just so unacceptable.

However - I do think we missed an opportunity. We could have voted for none of the usual 3 - and voted for local independents. If we had a significant number of those we could have a situation like they have in Denmark at the moment where a significant number of MP's are members of the "Peoples Party" - a party set up by a lady fed up with exactly that which seems to concern most of us here in the UK.

PIA KJAERSGAARD, stood up for what she thought was right when she founded the Danish People’s Party 15 years ago. The result has not been a party in power but a party that has a casting vote. This means that whatever party is the minority government, the Peoples Party has enormous clout.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pia_Kj%C3%A6rsgaard

The gamble "Call me Dave" is taking is the only sensible one he can - hope that by the next election things are better and we go back to the two horse race with either the LibDems being sidelined or part of the Conservative party.

The last thing they want is the applecart being overturned by a new independent party - or a loose association of Independent MP's - having a significant number of seats such that the balance of power rests with them.

Those on the "Left" hate Pia Kjaersgaard and her peoples party - but history shows it was born out of the same frustration of the Danish people that we, here in the UK have been expressing for years.

Hello,

It doesn't matter what we would like to vote for.......the "Parties" have that all sewn-up between them. ........They do the voting when they have been voted in.

Whilst a large enough group of independents would make a difference I do not believe this could happen here - too many vested interests to ensure it will not...........Murdock/Parties/BBC bias/Banks etc. and not enough voters seeing the spin and bias. (Some not able to IMO) A nice little set up for the Status Quo......(err -not getting on to the Group)

And the ones that have been voted in............well it's trough -time again........and follow the whips or else!

You may be right - but forgive me for saying this - such a statement does seem rather defeatist. If you want change you have to bring it about - not moan about it but do nothing about it.

To my mind - those that profess not to have voted for 60 years can hardly then come to the table and express a valid opinion - you are either part of a democracy or you excuse yourself and take no part.

As for the "Old school" bias you mention Tyke - I agree totally - but we are seeing the role of the BBC challenged, certainly News Int. has had its wings clipped - LONG overdue!

If everyone says - "Naw - won't happen!" - then the odds are it won't.

But each journey starts with just one step.

And from what I see on the TV, people seem ready for change of direction - not sure if this change will develop into a full blown journey - but what happened in Denmark is really quite remarkable.

Malcolm listed all the things he thought people would vote for.

Have a look at the link I posted above and see what the Peoples party of Denmark stood for 15 years ago. If it can happen in Denmark – it can sure as hell happen here – but it will not happen all by itself. That first step and all the others that follow has to be taken.

That'll be support for the British National Party then; as those are amongst their policies.

I can understand people not voting afterall why should they.

Take the last election as a prime example, although all elections are roughly similar, you listen to each parties manifesto, carefully evaluate and compare them and make up your mind deciding which party offers what you want.

Off you go and vote and the winner of that election then works to an entirely different manifesto.

Just where is the incentive to vote.

To restore peoples trust in the political parties they should be forced by law to STICK to their pre-election manifesto with ALL cabinet members being personally fined VERY heavily and the party fined £1 million for each failure to fulfill their manifesto

Oh and of course tax the banks

I want to see strict laws made and applied, if you dont break the law you won't be punished , simples.

When a villain appears in court I want to hear a sharp intake of breath when he is sentenced.

I want serial killers such as Levi Bellfield hanged by the neck until dead, I want the police given permission to clout a youngster round the back of the head when that youngster gives off with the mouth. Foreigners availing themselves of our way of life and welfare benefits should be sent back to where they came from if they commit a serious crime within 10 years of being granted permission to live here, the human rights act I want throwing where it belongs, in the trash bin.

No lethal injections, no bullet in the head and no electric chair just a hank of good quality hemp rope and let them swing until their feet stop twitching.

The yobs who attacked Manchester are from the nearby sink estates of east Manchester.
