Overnight at Calais Port

Recommended Posts

I have read on a thread here that it is possible to park up near the booking office at Calais. I have a map on the link, but someone posted that in August there were barriers being erected.

Can anyone tell me if this is still a viable option. Arrive early hours and have not been to Calais before.

Just want to shut the lids, grab some zz's and clear off.

Thank you

The barriers are further down at the port terminal and not near the booking office, they are also not working. Parked at the booking office two weeks ago with no problems.

It's a bit noisy so next time will travel to Gravelines near Dunkirk Which is only about 12 miles and so much better

Enjoy your holiday

I stayed at the Ferry Port, ticket office area on the 26th July no problems, the new barriers are there to control the exit as it used to be a free for all but now there are only two exits, it is a good place to overnight, camera controlled reasonably quiet FREE and there is also a Cafe there. No other service though, arrive with water and an empty Loo.

Unless something has changed in the last two months there certainly are services there at the far end in the main building there are toilets and you can even have a shower if you want one, all free. You do however need to have your own drinking water as it is difficult to fill a bottle from the drinking fountains, though not impossible!
