Jerrybng
Have spent a fun weekend researching tyres for a 1996 Hymer B544 (Fiat Ducato). Decided on a set of Conti Vanco Camper but being quoted at least 6 months delivery from Continental Does any one have any thoughts on using standard van tyres, provided that the load & speed ratings are adequate or alternatively recommend an alternative tyre. Thanks
BGD
We've always just used standard van tyres.......and have found them to be absolutely fine. It is after all a van that you're driving.
scramblers
A couple of years ago I replaced all the tyres on my motorhome with camper tyres and got a good deal from Event Tyres. The tyres were cheaper than anywhere else and they fit them on your drive (or where ever you store your motorhome). http://www.event-tyres.co.uk/ They may have your preferred tyres in stock or offer an alternative camper tyre. Jerrybng
Thanks for your responses, it appears that Continental are not the only suppliers with delivery problems as both Michelen & Pirelli are on extended lead in times, van tyres it will be. Don't forget that, if you opt for non-'camping-car' tyres and have been accustomed to inflating your motorhome's tyres to over-70psi, you'll need to lower the replacement tyres' pressures appropriately.
