rogertravels
Hi Folks! We are heading to france from Ireland at the end of august in our campervan for a week and hoped to find a suitable campsite ? We arrive in Roscoff and hope to keep the driving to a minimum as we have a 1yr old and a 2yr old in the back who get very restless after 3-4hours. Happy to do max 5 hours We have looked some of the large "Castels" sites which look good but maybe are a little big for us and I'm sure we'll end up there as the kids get older. If anyone has been with younger kids in a camper we'd love to hear what you thought What we'd love is -nice medium size site with kids play park and paddle pool and things to keep them entertained - walking distance to beech or town (or both if we could get it). - we don't plan on moving the van unless we really need to so as much within walking distance as possible - A nice town with good spots for families to eat out for lunch or in the evenings Open to all suggestions and thanks in advance for your help Roger

gmcclin
Hi Roger, I have to agree with previous posts. There are a number of good sites in the Carnac area and it is a wonderful town with fantastic beaches. We have on a number of occasions been to the Les Castells site Le Grande Metaire which is close to the famous standing stones. The facilities, which includes a great pool complex, are excellent. There is a bus stop close to the site entrance and a Petit train which goes from the road outside the site and will take you to Carnac Plage. My daughter and family went to the site this year for their first trip to France. The kids, aged 5,4 and 2, had a great time and will return next year. The journey time from Roscoff to Carnac should be no more than 2/3 hours. Hope you and the family have a great time. PS A wonderful eating place is Helenas which is in the centre ville if you like Italian food and the kids will love the ice creams at L'igloo
