David0110 Posted September 5, 2011 Posted September 5, 2011 I have had the vehicle for several months and the AM signal is very poor. In addition the FM signal is fine provided you are near to the signal source. i.e. a local radio FM reception is fine until you leave the area where the signal is coming from. I am comparing the poor reception against much better reception I can receive in cars I have/had which are much older models with standard quality radios. I have had it checked twice by the dealer I bought it from and despite adding a booster, there has been no improvement. The motor home has an aerial incorporated within one of the wing mirrors, apparently standard for this make and model, rather than an external aerial. Any views please as to whether having an external aerial would improve the reception or anything else that can be done to improve the reception.
DESCO Posted September 6, 2011 Posted September 6, 2011 This is a common problem, you would be far better off replacing the Ariel with another mounted if possible on luton, but wing would improve matters.
David0110 Posted September 7, 2011 Author Posted September 7, 2011 Yes thanks thats what I was considering doing. I thought I would check first to see if the problem was specific to my vehicle or whether others had similar problems.
