tp002c784tp002c784tp Posted September 5, 2011 Posted September 5, 2011 Hi All I was wondering if members have any set tasks before they move off site. We always have a routine 1. fridge on 12v. 2. all other twelve volt systems turned off , E,G panel system off. 3. Hook up cable if used disconnected. 4. All hatches closed. 5. All pipes stowed away E.G. waste water. I think most of these tasks are common sense, the reason I mention the above, this Summer I have seen two caravan and one motorhome hatches blow off the vehicles on motorways, could be expensive if it was one of the bigger hatches. Guest pelmetman Posted September 5, 2011 Posted September 5, 2011 Rear legs up. Woops yes we forgot last year lucky for us Dave Newell sorted them out. Sue

Guest Tracker Posted September 5, 2011 Posted September 5, 2011 Drive off of chocks, retrieve and stow. Ensure step is retracted - should be automatic but has been known to fail Ensure blade in cassette is fully closed - especially when it is not empty! Ensure TV is secured. Ensure Status aerial is lowered and secured facing the right way Ensure fridge door is locked shut Turn off gas
dikyenfo Posted September 6, 2011 Posted September 6, 2011 Put fridge to 12v and lock hab. door as easy for thieves to pop in at lights etc.

Retread24800 Posted September 7, 2011 Posted September 7, 2011 Reverse/Drive off levelling ramps and stow them away, I dislike the bump if I forget.Dig OH out of the local shop/toilet/other attraction..............Remember where I'm going:-)
Tony Jones Posted September 7, 2011 Posted September 7, 2011 Roger, your list is too long. Surely if you've done no.2, you don't need to worry about no.3? Isn't that what OH is for?

Wanderbirds Posted September 7, 2011 Posted September 7, 2011 Hello Terry, You have been given lots of good ideas for checks, some of which are universal, whilst others depend on your MH. In my experience everyone needs a list specific to them and their MH. Our list is written, with a permanent marker, on a white cloth which we place over the steering wheel whenever we stop anywhere. As it covers the steering wheel it firstly reminds you that there are things to do before moving off; secondly, it reminds us of our check list and finally it has the added advantage of keeping the wheel cool in hot sun. It works for us. Regards, Carl
Retread24800 Posted September 7, 2011 Posted September 7, 2011 Check lists? reminders? OK at Cape Canaveral, but if you need a reminder that you are about to drive off when sitting at the wheel, are you sure you should still be driving?
Wanderbirds Posted September 7, 2011 Posted September 7, 2011 Touché However, as Alexander Pope said, “To err is human, to forgive, divine ...” What he failed to add was to really cock-up requires the use of a computer. I err, therefore I have lists – sad but true. Regards, Carl
